Our expansion of the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre facilitates a premium wing-to-wing service for passengers transferring between commercial flights and private jets. We’re refurbishing the existing centre to provide airside engineering facilities and expanding it with a new first-class terminal. We’ve carefully designed the 24,500m² facility to be delivered in a live airfield, with no disruption to ongoing operations.

Passengers will board and deboard under a 27m clear-span roof that shields them from the region’s tropical weather. From here they’ll have direct access to the new terminal and its luxury amenities, which include VIP lounges, children’s play areas and private meeting rooms, plus event spaces for external brand collaborations – all with interiors by Make. These facilities benefit from our work in hospitality design, with an emphasis on a seamless customer journey. Picture windows in the terminal offer striking views of landings and lift-offs.

Our retention of the existing building and its apron has reduced the scheme’s embodied carbon, as have off-site construction techniques like prefabrication and modular design. Operational carbon, meanwhile, is minimised through the cantilevered roof canopy, which features PV panels and has minimal points of contact that lessen the impact on the tarmac.

Along with enhancing comfort and convenience for passengers, the upgraded facility will help reinforce Hong Kong’s status and connectivity as a global aviation hub.
