The Make studios are filled with incredibly talented people from around the world, from architects to IT professionals. Everyone who works here is great at what they do and does it with passion. What’s more, we’re a nice bunch of people who are fun to work with.
Great architecture demands diversity – of background, education, ideas and experience. As part of our commitment to greater diversity at Make and within the profession, we are signatories to the Property Week Diversity Charter, and Make partner Katy Ghahremani is a co-chair of the RIBA’s Architects for Change group. We mentor students with the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust’s ‘Building Futures’ programme, and we’re active in a number of LGBT property industry networking organisations such as Freehold and Off Site.
At Make we think it’s important to provide benefits that go above and beyond the norm. Here’s a selection of what’s on offer:
- Annual profit share
- Non-contributory pension scheme
- Private health insurance
- BUPA health assessments
- Access to the Best Doctors network
- Employee assistance programme offering counselling and advice
- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
- Shared parental leave
- Flexible working
- Up to six months’ unpaid sabbatical
We have a range of in-house initiatives to increase engagement and build community.
Make Social organises regular outings, from Ai Wei Wei at the Royal Academy in London to Korean BBQ in Hong Kong to Bastille Day celebrations in Sydney. Make Sport will sort the courts for squash, tennis, football or softball – or any other conceivable sport people want to play!
Every Friday at 5pm in each studio, we gather for Friday Live. This brings everyone together for project or business updates, or presentations from external speakers on topics like biophilic design and artificial intelligence. Whenever possible, we hold a global Friday Live, connecting all three studios to share news and knowledge, and to say hi to our colleagues around the world.
