Stuart Fraser appointed to Salford City Council’s Design Review Forum

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of architect Stuart Fraser to Salford’s independent Design Review Forum, a new forum launched to champion the highest standards of design across Salford.

Formed of 37 built environment professionals, the group — chaired by Stephen Gleave, with vice chair Ernst ter Horst — will collaborate with the development industry to provide early-stage, expert guidance to help shape major development proposals in Salford.

Design review panels are already well established across London and the South East and Salford’s new forum marks a significant step in embedding design excellence into the city’s planning process.

Stuart has been a partner at Make Architects since 2004, working across a variety of sectors, from workplace and residential to hospitality and urban design. He recently led the design and delivery of three major schemes within the New Bailey masterplan in Salford, including the award-winning Eden building, a LETI Pioneer project featuring Europe’s largest living wall. He’s also overseeing the Salford Crescent Masterplan – a net zero development introducing significant new housing, public realm, commercial space and transport along the River Irwell – along with the masterplan’s first piece of infrastructure, Salford Rise, a parkland bridge which is currently on site.
