Make supports a ‘yes’ vote in Australia’s Voice to Parliament referendum

On 14 October, Australia will vote in a historic referendum on the First Nations Voice to Parliament.

The Voice to Parliament seeks to enshrine an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander advisory committee in Australia’s Constitution. The advisory committee will provide input into matters that impact Indigenous communities, such as health, education and employment.

As a practice with a studio in Australia, we wholeheartedly support the ‘yes’ vote. The Voice is an important, positive step towards equity and equality, and we want to use our platform to promote these values.

The Voice to Parliament was conceived in 2017, when more than 250 Indigenous leaders nominated by their communities came together to create the Uluru Statement from the Heart. It’s something these communities and their representative bodies have been seeking for almost a century. Watch this video for the full story.
