These facilities benefit from our expertise in hospitality design, with an emphasis on a seamless customer journey. The layout is spacious, with privacy, comfort and efficiency thoughtfully considered. It has allowed the centre to carefully craft a one-stop process that streamlines customs, immigration and quarantine clearance, enabling a processing time of just three minutes.
With the first phase now complete, the second phase of the expansion will refurbish the existing terminal to cater to chartered flights, pet travel and group tours while also adding office space and event venues for aviation-related businesses. Make’s retention of the existing building has reduced the scheme’s embodied carbon, as have off-site construction techniques like prefabrication and modular design. Operational carbon, meanwhile, is minimised through the cantilevered Sky Canopy, which has minimal points of contact that lessen the impact on the tarmac, as well as PV panels on the existing terminal roof.
Upon full completion in 2026, the new and upgraded facilities will transform the 24,500m² centre into a new landmark within the Airport City, reinforcing Hong Kong’s status and connectivity as a global aviation hub.
Make’s Hong Kong director, Sean Affleck, said: “The completion of the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre expansion is a landmark achievement, and we are incredibly proud to have led its architectural vision.”
Project architect, Chris Cheung, added: “Our goal was to create an experience that embodies elegance, efficiency and serene luxury.”
