David Patterson

Architecture, London

David joined Make in 2005 and has over 20 years’ experience as an architect.

His masterplanning expertise and keen interest in the education and research sector have underpinned his involvement in a range of transformational schemes for the practice, including an RIBA award-winning amenities building for the University of Nottingham and a masterplan design for a thriving new community in the London Borough of Croydon. He focuses on architecture that thoughtfully creates spaces and demonstrates how they have been constructed while meeting the aesthetic and functional needs of the people and communities they serve.

David mentors aspiring architects through Open-City’s Accelerate Into University! programme, and is a visiting critic at University of East London, University of Brighton and The Bartlett. He is also the vice-chair of RIBA West London.
