The Barn, Make’s fifth building for the university, brings what were once disparate facilities together under one roof for the first time to accommodate the needs of a growing campus population. Over its three floors, The Barn houses a dining hall, bar, common room, graduate centre, faith rooms, student services and several additional facilities. The clearly defined entrances and large, open concourse clad in local brick provide a warm, welcoming environment for all.

“The Barn is a high quality addition to this university campus… It is a thoughtful design that responds well to its users and brief, but also celebrates its location and will become the focal point in the campus’s day-to-day life.”
RIBA East Midlands Jury Chair 2015

“[The Barn] complements and enriches the look and feel of Sutton Bonington, whilst providing our students with a superb facility which they will be able to enjoy for years to come.”
Professor Sir David Greenaway, University of Nottingham vice-chancellor
