We’re delighted to announce that Make’s St James’s Market scheme was awarded an RIBA London Award at last night’s ceremony at the RIBA’s London headquarters. The development, for The Crown Estate and Oxford Properties, forms part of a 10-year £500m plan to regenerate the St James’s area and breathes new life into this once-neglected part of the West End.
The workplace scheme comprises two Portland stone-clad buildings – one with a retained classical facade, the other with a contemporary, organic form – surrounded by new and enhanced public realm, and served by premium ground floor retail. Together, the buildings deliver 210,000ft2 of premium office space, and count companies such as The Carlyle Group and The Crown Estate itself among its tenants.
