Make’s new London studio ‘tops out’

The new Make studio development, currently under construction, has officially ‘topped-out’.

Pre-let by Derwent London plc, the new studio space is situated in the car park in the basement of Middlesex House, Fitzrovia, and will provide 15,100 square feet of offices and a garden under a 15 year lease.

Make has developed a distinctive design for the space which reflects the previous use as a car park and which is in keeping with industrial feel of the rest of the building.

Charley Lacey, Make partner and lead project architect, said in a statement: “We are very excited to have completed a major part of the build, and we cannot wait for the next stage of works.

“The polished concrete slab is a key piece of the design. It is not only structural but will also form our floor finish and provide the office with heating and cooling.”

Construction on the studio commenced in July this year, with final completion scheduled for spring 2015.
