Neurodiversity was a key consideration throughout the spatial design. Upstairs, on the fifth floor, is a centrally located social kitchen surrounded by a curated mix of staff workstations, meeting rooms, collaborative zones and private ‘pods’ – all thoughtfully sited to enhance efficiency and accommodate diverse working styles. The level of privacy in terms of meeting spaces can range from three-person huddle zones and six-person meeting rooms through to informal lounge areas, all controlled by partitions through curtains and glazed screens.
The materials palette across the upper-floor workspace is light, calming and neutral, with a focus on productivity, and becomes richer and darker as people descend into the hospitality-influenced spaces downstairs. Warm colours, lighting and timber flooring combine with lively features — including a tropical fish tank and biophilia — to create a relaxed environment in the client-facing ground floor lounge. Meanwhile, walnut, bronze and green velvet accents bring an air of exclusivity to the intimate event space below.
The result is an inviting new workplace poised to evolve around interaction and connection, one that reflects Gleeds’ unique and collegiate working environment.
