Ana-Maria Cirlan

Architecture, London

Ana-Maria is a Part 2 architectural assistant currently contributing to the High Holborn office scheme in London.

She joined Make in 2025 after completing her Part 1 with First Class Honours and Part 2 with Distinction at the University of Greenwich. She previously worked at KHD Architecture as a Part 1 assistant, designing bespoke homes and multi-unit projects across South London and Kent.

Ana-Maria’s interests centre on narrative-driven and storytelling projects, exploring how architecture responds to its surroundings and the human stories they convey. She enjoys technically driven projects that require creative and elegant solutions, combining hand drawing, digital visualisation, and model-making to communicate complex ideas. She is also passionate about sustainable, context-responsive design and creating spaces that provoke reflection, imagination, and meaningful connection.

Her academic work has received multiple commendations, including nominations for the 2022 RIBA Bronze Medal and the WCCA Peter Luscombe Drawing Prize in the Part 2 hand-drawn category, as well as the School of Design Award for Outstanding Achievement in Architectural Design during her undergraduate studies.

Outside Make, Ana-Maria enjoys oil painting and playing tennis. She has also been a chess enthusiast since the age of five.
