Make wins AJ100 Employer of the Year

Make was named Employer of the Year at the AJ100 Awards on 8 June. Organised by the Architects’ Journal, the awards dinner took place in the Tower of London, and Frank Filskow, Laura Le Gal and Amanda Sexton were there to pick up the gong on behalf of the studio. The award recognises the fact that as a proud employee-owned business, we place enormous value on the wellbeing of our people.

That’s why our friendly, collaborative culture is so important, why we provide an array of benefits that go above and beyond the norm – such as enhanced parental, maternity and paternity leave – and why we promote team-building initiatives through groups like Make Social and Make Sport. All together, these elements create the happy workplace that Make is today.

Make also placed 24th in the AJ100 survey, a ranking of the largest architectural practices in the UK, measured by the number of qualified architects employed.

In other categories, we were shortlisted for Practice of the Year, which recognises our strong performance in 2015, and Collaboration of the Year with PRP, for our work together on Chobham Manor, the first of five legacy residential projects in London’s Queen Elizabeth Park.

We’re incredibly grateful to all Makers, clients and friends who make us the practice we are today. We couldn’t do it without them.
