James is a Part 1 architectural assistant currently contributing to the Vista at 72 Upper Ground project in London. He joined Make after completing his Part 1 studies with First Class Honours from the Manchester School of Architecture in 2025.

During his studies, James interned at EPR Architects, where he gained experience working on a masterplanning competition bid. His design work has received multiple accolades, including the 2025 MSA Drawing of the Year Award in association with Make, the 2024 Future Spaces Foundation Student Competition win, and the 2023 Joe Jessop Award for his overall contribution to the Manchester School of Architecture.

James is passionate about modern construction and alternative fabrication methods, and enjoys exploring architectural styles such as Structural Expressionism.

Outside the studio, James enjoys kayaking and painting acrylic portraits.
