HMRC to move into Make building at New Bailey

日期 06.04.2018

HM Revenue and Customs has signed a 25-year lease on the third office building at New Bailey in Salford, Greater Manchester. Designed by Make, the 7-storey, 14,620m2 building is part of the wider New Bailey masterplan being developed by The English Cities Fund to deliver a vibrant new commercial, retail and leisure destination on the banks of the River Irwell.

Situated at the north-east of the site, overlooking New Bailey Street, the building will act as a gateway to the development, with a new piazza at the front to welcome passengers exiting Salford Central train station. A red brick weave facade references the local 19th-century warehouse architecture, with a distinctive perforated screen at roof level.

The building was chosen by HMRC as one of its 13 new regional centres and forms part of the government’s plan to modernise the civil service estate.

The English Cities Fund is a joint venture between Muse, Legal & General, and Homes England.
