Our new workplace interiors scheme for property consultancy Gleeds draws on our hospitality expertise to provide an inspiring site for both day-to-day work and long-term community-building. Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, the new workplace serves as the company’s national and global HQ, providing touchdown space for its international network of employees and clients. We worked closely with Gleeds to understand its working patterns, map them spatially and tailor our layouts to support business demands, including the drive to increase interaction with industry collaborators.
The fit-out spans three floors in the newly built Berners & Wells development, with more than a third of it given over to collaborative gathering space. We’ve reimagined a former retail unit to deliver a ground-floor working lounge and coffee bar for employees and guests to mingle, with a flexible event space located on the lower ground floor for presentations, training sessions and industry-wide events, including Gleeds’s famous jazz nights. Upstairs, on the fifth floor, is a centrally located social kitchen surrounded by a curated mix of staff workstations, meeting rooms, collaborative zones and quiet library spaces – all thoughtfully sited to enhance efficiency and accommodate various working styles.
The materials palette across the upper-floor workspace is light, calming and fresh, with a focus on productivity, and becomes richer and darker as people descend into the hospitality-influenced spaces downstairs. Warm colours, lighting and flooring combine with lively features, including a tropical fish tank, to create a relaxed environment in the ground floor lounge. Meanwhile, walnut, bronze and green velvet accents bring an air of exclusivity to the intimate event space below. The result is an inviting new workplace poised to evolve around interaction and connection.
