Our new home, at 309 George Street in the heart of Sydney, reflects who we are as a company and what we stand for. It’s an open and contemporary space that showcases our collaborative spirit and gives clients an insight into the studio’s inner workings.
At the main entrance, on the third floor of an existing 1970s office building, are vivid black-and-white photos of our latest projects and a large-format screen showing a rolling selection of Make media. There’s a copy of our charter on the wall, signed by local and visiting Makers, that communicates our purpose: to design the best spaces, places and buildings in the world.
The interior has been designed with our people firmly in mind. It emphasises wellness with its sit/stand workstations, native greenery and folding bike hangers, which also signal our commitment to encouraging sustainable modes of transport.
The polished concrete floors, crisp white walls, full-height windows and minimalist palette reflect a utilitarian aesthetic, while repurposed glass partitions in the model shop and main meeting room reveal more about the way we work.
“We moved into George Street so we could welcome new people to our team and enable them to do great work. This new studio is a reflection of who we are and we’re pleased we can share that with our clients.”
